Read Around the World is a supplemental reading program designed to motivate
children to read independently, and to provide teachers with an easy to
implement, ready-made tool enabling parents, guardians, or volunteers to
assist students with reading without classroom intervention.
- Each student is evaluated to determine their independent reading level.
- Each student receives a journal corresponding to their reading level.
- Students select books, magazines, or articles of their choice. Students
ages K-2 may choose from an organized collection of books, we call a
"Learning Library" (Patent pending), while students of higher
grades may find reading materials from additional sources.
- Students earn facts and information about states and countries, as
well as stickers for their certificates as they complete each journal.
- Students may complete their reading at home with parents/guardians
or at school with community/parent volunteers.
